🎄♟️ What a night! ♟️🎄

Last night, Monday 22nd December, we held our first ever Christmas Party & Quickplay Tournament, and it was exactly what we hoped it would be. Relaxed, fun, and full of great energy.

We played 10-minute games with no increment, which caused plenty of frustration along the way, but in the end it created the kind of fun chaos we all enjoy. Fast decisions, time scrambles, and fighting chess made for a brilliant atmosphere throughout the evening, with everyone competing fantastically and producing some great performances.

The night was never about formal results or standings. It was about enjoying chess together, sharing food, having a laugh, and celebrating the club as a whole. A huge thank you to everyone who brought food for the buffet and to those who helped with setting up, running games, and keeping everything ticking along. It genuinely made the night special.

More than anything, this Christmas get-together was a chance to celebrate the incredible growth of the club over the last year. To everyone who has joined us in 2025, thank you. You have brought enthusiasm, positivity, and a real buzz to club nights, and the atmosphere we have now simply would not exist without you.

We would also like to say a heartfelt thank you to parents and families for your continued encouragement, support, and involvement. It truly makes a difference, and we do not take it for granted.

We are excited to keep building on this momentum in the new year. We will continue doing everything we can for our players and for the wider chess community across Carmarthenshire, and we cannot wait to see what the next year brings.
